David JamesMEALINGSDavid passed away peacefully at the age of 90, after a short illness, on the 24 October, at the Perry Manor nursing home, Worcester.
The family would like to thank the team at Perry Manor who looked after David so well.
David was brought up by Netta and Richard in Selly Park and Edgbaston. He went to West House School and Oundle School, Rutlandshire. He studied Modern languages at Downing College Cambridge and gained a half blue in shotput and discus.
David spent his career working in the manufacturing industry in the Midlands and used his language skills working in Europe. He was a fine golfer and played at Edgbaston Golf Club, winning the National Boys Championship at Stoke Park in 1953.
He leaves his wife Beryl who shared his love of playing the piano and exploring new places, his sons James and Jonathan, and six much loved grandchildren, and to his delight one great-grandson.
David's funeral is on 21 November at Worcester Crematorium at 10.45am.
